CHENNAI: A Malayali couple was found murdered in Muthapudupet during a robbery bid at their house last night. Siddha doctor Sivan Nair and his wife Prasanna Kumar are those dead. 100 sovereigns of gold are missing from their house.

Sivan Nair runs a clinic close to his home at Gandhinagar in Muthapudupet. It is believed that the accused committed the act after entering the house under the pretense of being patients. After hearing some noise from the house, the neighbors informed the police. By the time the police reached the spot, the accused had killed the couple and made away with the gold. The bodies of the couple have been shifted to the hospital for post-mortem. The police have registered a case and started investigation. Prasanna Kumari was a teacher.
