KOZHIKODE: A report suggests that it was a police official from Pantheerankavu station who advised Rahul P Gopal to leave the country immediately after the youth was accused of brutally abusing his newlywed wife. This police official even revealed the secret route for Rahul to reach Bengaluru without facing any obstruction from the police. The superior officer ordered an investigation into the matter after the police officer's ‘spy’ conduct raised suspicion.

The call records of the officer will be checked. The accused is a civil police officer of Pantheerankavu station. Despite the news, the police have not yet revealed the name or other details of the officer. As soon as the case caught headlines in the media, the accused police officer adopted a ‘saviour mode’ and advised Rahul to immediately seek asylum in a foreign country. The commissioner had issued a memo to three officials of Pantheerankavu station regarding the incident. In the same case, the SHO was suspended from service after it was alleged that he took a stand with the accused right from the start of the case.

It is also reported that the accused police officer had made financial transactions with Rahul during the last few days.
