Search following information; police recover firearms, knives, cash from house in Aluva

KOCHI: Firearms were recovered from a house in Aluva during a search conducted. In the search at the house of Riyas, firearms, knives and money were found. There were four guns and cash of more than Rs 8 lakh.

The police conducted a search at Riyas’ house at Manjali in Aluva on a secret information received by range DIG Monday morning. Two revolvers, two pistols, two knives and Rs 8,85,000 were seized from his house.


Riyas has been taken into police custody. Police said that he has connections with goonda teams including those in Perumbavoor. There are presently more than ten cases against him, including a murder case. Riyas has been brought to Aluva West Police Station and is being grilled. Police said that he was carrying guns without a license. His arrest will be registered soon.
