Youth ready to marry woman, who delivered baby in hostel bathroom in Kochi

KOCHI: The youth of Kollam, is ready to marry the unwed woman, who gave birth to a baby in the bathroom of the hostel in Kochi. He is also ready to accept his son. The police had yesterday collected a detailed statement of both the youth and the woman. The families of both were not aware of their relationship.

However, the police had summoned both the families to the station and talked to them soon after she delivered the baby. The families did not oppose their marriage. The families had informed their readiness to conduct the marriage as soon as she is discharged from the hospital.

The 23-year-old woman delivered the baby in the women’s hostel near to the Old Market Road Sunday morning. Though she was sharing the room with six women, none knew about her pregnancy. When her friends enquired about the physical discomfort shown by her at times, she cited some health issues and evaded them.

Not seeing her after a long time from the bathroom, her friends called her but there was no response. They then forcibly opened the door and saw her standing with the baby. On being informed, the police reached the spot.
