BHOPAL: Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has landed in a soup over the use of ‘Bible’ in the title of her pregnancy memoir. Madhya Pradesh High Court sent the notice after considering the petition filed by lawyer Christopher Anthony.
The petition was heard by a single bench headed by Justice Gurpal Singh Ahluwalia. The court has sought an explanation from the actress for using the word ‘Bible’ in the title.
The action is against Kareena Kapoor Khan's book 'Pregnancy Bible’: The Ultimate Manual for Moms-to-Be'. The book was released in August 2021. The court also issued notices against the publishers of the book.
In his plea, lawyer Christopher Anthony said the use of the word 'bible' in the title of the book offended the religious sentiments of Christians. The petition said that the shrewd use of the word ‘Bible’ was to garner cheap publicity for the book. The petitioner approached the High Court after the Additional Sessions Court rejected his plea to file a case against the actress.
