Last wish not fulfilled, Rajesh bids adieu without seeing wife; family turns against Air India

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman could not fulfill her husband’s last wish. She could not see her husband for the last time following the unexpected strike by the employees of Air India Express. Amrita, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, had met a bad experience. She could not visit her husband, who was in a critical condition in Oman, due to the cancellation of flights. Amrita's husband Nambi Rajesh passed away yesterday.


Nambi Rajesh was working as an IT manager in Muscat. Rajesh was admitted to a hospital in Oman after he suffered a heart attack on May 7. Rajesh while undergoing treatment expressed to meet his wife. Knowing this, she had booked a ticket on Air India Express flight on May 8. However, due to the strike of the employees, she could not fly. She was informed that she could fly the next day, but she could not as the flights were cancelled. No flights were available later. His condition turned worse yesterday and died without seeing his wife.

The video of Amrita talking emotionally to the media had gathered attention. Hapless Amrita responded to the media saying that she needs to go. Amrita's mother told a media that she had requested the company representatives from the airport, but no help was obtained.


The body of Rajesh is expected to arrive today and will be laid to rest tomorrow. Amrita's family said the Air India Express company is responsible for this situation and that they will file a case against the company.
