k

KOZHIKODE: Kozhikode Town Assistant Commissioner of Police KG Suresh has started an investigation into the incident where a four-year-old girl's tongue was mistakenly replaced by a finger during an operation at the Medical College Mother and Child Protection Center. He visited the child's home and recorded the statements of the parents. The statement of the hospital authorities was also taken. The investigation team is trying to complete the investigation soon. After the suspension of Dr. Bijon Johnson, who performed the surgery, the Department of Medical Education has also initiated an investigation.

At the same time, the child's mother said that they have decided to proceed legally with the incident and that no other child should experience such a mishap. Due to the negligence of the hospital authorities, the child had to undergo two surgeries. The parents were not informed that there was a problem with the child's tongue and that surgery was required. When the child came out of surgery, there was cotton in her mouth, and the parents asked about it. The child's tongue is now slightly sore and she has to see the doctor again after two weeks. The mother mentioned that there is nothing seriously wrong with the child now.
