THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The speed governor and GPS of the super fast bus driven by KSRTC driver H Yadu were found not working. In the dispute between Mayor Arya Rajendran and Yadu, crucial information was found during the inspection of the bus by the Motor Vehicle Department as per the request of the police. The Department of Motor Vehicles found that the speed governor of the bus has been disturbed for two months and the GPS has not been working for months.
Last day, the police applied to the Thiruvananthapuram Judicial Magistrate's Court to record the Mayor's confidential statement in the complaint filed against Yadu. The case is based on Arya Rajendran's complaint that Yadu made an obscene gesture. The mayor had said that the dispute was not related to overtaking and that he had reacted publicly because of mistreatment of women.
Yadu filed a petition in the court demanding that a case be filed against Arya Rajendran and her husband and MLA Sachin Dev. Yadu has filed a complaint against the mayor for obstructing the work and against the MLA for trespassing in the bus and threatening him. Apart from Arya Rajendran and Sachin Dev, Yadu has filed a complaint against three other people who were in the car. Yadu approached the court after filing a police complaint against them but no action was taken.
There was a big controversy when the Mayor and her husband Sachin Dev stopped the KSRTC bus by crossing their car. Then, on the basis of the petition given by Yadu, a case was registered against them under the non-bailable section as per the direction of the court. The case is against five people including Arya Rajendran. The Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, which considered Yadu's case, directed the Cantonment Police to file a case. Section 353 of the IPC has been charged against them for obstructing the official performance of official duties. This is a section punishable with imprisonment for two years.
