ALAPPUZHA: Police have questioned broker TG Nandakumar on the complaint filed by BJP leader Sobha Surendran. Nandakumar appeared for questioning at the Punnapra police station in the evening. The police had earlier registered a case against Nandakumar under the charges of insulting womanhood and defamation. Meanwhile, Nandakumar said that he stands firm in his remarks against Sobha Surendran.
Nandakumar came forward with allegations against Sobha Surendran, the BJP candidate in Alappuzha, just a few days before the elections in Kerala. Speaking at a press conference, Nandakumar said that Sobha Surendran was a fraud and that she did not return Rs 10 lakh given to her as an advance for a land deal despite repeated requests.
"I gave Rs 10 lakhs as advance to Sobha Surendran after she said that she wanted to sell her land. She said that the land was in her name. However, when I inquired about the land, I found that there were some issues with its documents. Following this, I asked her to return the money. However, she has not returned the money so far," Nandakumar said.
