police

PATHANAMTHITTA: The police have registered a case against the BJP leaders in the incident of threatening the contractor of the cloak room in Pampa by demanding a huge amount of money as collection. The action was taken following the complaint of the contractor. The complaint of the contractor is that they asked money and when it was not paid, they with the help of the devotees, protested.

The cloak room contractor filed a complaint with the Pampa police against BJP Ranni constituency president Santosh Kumar and general secretary Arun Anirudhan. The complaint also said the leaders created a ruckus along with the devotees for not paying the money. Some of the devotees protested the other day alleging exorbitant rates charged for the cloak room. The contractor alleged that they were stirred up by the BJP leaders. The contractor had earlier released the CCTV footage of the leaders reaching the cloak room for money.

Meantime, the BJP leaders said they just questioned for charging of exorbitant rates for the cloak room along with the devotees. They said that all the other allegations are false.

Meanwhile, a branch of a tree fell on the vehicle of Ayyappa devotees who had come from Tamil Nadu. The incident happened at Madamannu in Pathanamthitta yesterday. While returning after darshan, a branch of a tree fell on top of their bus. The window of the bus was damaged in the incident and the driver sustained minor injuries. There was light wind and rain at the time of the accident.
