THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A three-week-old baby girl weighing 3.14 kg on Monday came to the 'Ammathottil' adoption centre of the State Kerala State Sisu Kshema Samithi in Thiruvananthapuram. GL Arungopi, General Secretary of the State Sisu Kshema Samithi, said in a press release that the new guest was named 'Mazha' synonymous with the rain that came into the cool down the temperatures after the severe summer in the state.
As soon as the message reached the adoption centre announcing the arrival of the guest, the on-duty nurse, nannies and security personnel rushed the baby to the Thycaud Women and Children Hospital for health checks. The baby is healthy is being cared for at the Samithi's Thiruvananthapuram Adoption Centre.
'Mazha' is the 599th child that came to 'Ammathottil' after it started working in Thiruvananthapuram on 14th November 2002. She is the 13th child and the 4th girl child to be delivered through Ammathottil in Thiruvananthapuram in the last ten months. So far in 2024, 25 children have adopted from the centre.
Kerala State Sisu Kshema Samithi General Secretary GL Arungopi informed that any those who claim the child should immediately contact the Samithi authorities as the adoption process of the baby has to be initiated.ss
