German giant firm 'dspace' opens competence centre in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: dSpace Technologies, the world's leading company in the field of automation has started operations in the capital city, promising more cutting-edge technology ventures in the state. Minister P Rajeeve announced this news through his Facebook page.

This is dSpace Technologies' third global competence centre, and the first in Asia. The previous centres are functioning in Germany and Croatia. The company decided to start operations in Thiruvananthapuram after visiting all other major industrial hubs of India including Bengaluru, Chennai and Pune.

dSpace vice-president Bernd Schaefers rated Kerala very conducive for industries to thrive and zeroed in on the southern state from the other metropolitan hubs of India. The company also lauded the availability of skilled labourers in the state. World-class car manufacturers such as Porsche, BMW, Audi, Volvo and Jaguar are among the customers of dSpace. Safran, a leading French aircraft engine manufacturing company, which has recently started in Kerala, is also one of dSpace's customers.

dSpace has started operations in Kerala to conduct research in the field of IT/AI and develop hardware and software systems of devices using the latest technologies. Their work will also concentrate on areas such as medical technology and aviation. With thirty years of experience, dSpace employs over 2,600 people across 9 countries. In kerala, the german giant firm will provide job opportunity to more than 300 individuals.

The competence centre in Kerala has now opened in Kinfra Park Kazhakoottam.
