THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The body of the 14-year-old girl, who drowned in the sea near Vettakada in Edava yesterday, has been cremated. The girl identified as Shreya of tenth class was addicted to tab. She went missing after her parents scolded her for using the tab excessively. The body of the girl was found in a search conducted.

Eyewitnesses first said that there was another child along with Shreya. However, they saw her going towards the sea from a long distance. So, it cannot be confirmed that there was another child. Police said they couldn’t find anybody.

If the girl had gone to the sea shortly after leaving her house, it is possible that someone close to her may have gone with her. However, the police said that no other missing complaints have been received so far, but the police have not completely ruled out the possibility of it. The search is on.

Some fishermen had stopped her from going to the sea. However, they said the girl told them that her parents were there. By the time they tried to save her, she was swept away by the sea. She was the daughter of Sajan Babu of Edava Venkulam Chembakathinmoodu Plavila and Siby.
