ALAPPUZHA: Two police officers, who were with Alappuzha crime branch DySP MG Sabu at a goonda feast organized by Thammanam Faizal, has been suspended. The DySP will also face action. DySP Sabu attended the party when he was to retire on May 31. The pandal set up in front of the Alappuzha Crime Branch Office as part of send off ceremony was demolished after this.

The disciplinary action against the suspended cops is based on preliminary investigation. The suspended officers were deputed in the Crime Branch Office from Alappuzha Armed Forces Camp. One is the driver of DySP's vehicle and the other is a squad member.

The DySP was hiding in the washroom when the SI and his team reached Faizal's house for inspection the other day. The said policemen took part in the feast amid the ongoing operation to crack down on goons in the state. When the police reached the spot for inspection, they saw the DySP and three policemen there. When asked why they came here, the DySP and his team said that Thammanam Faisal had organized a feast.

The police had said that they had gone to Vagaman and reached Angamali. Reportedly there were some inconsistencies in their speech. The police team informed this to the higher officials. Later, an internal investigation was announced into the incident which brought shame to the police department. Also information was sought on this from the police headquarters in Ernakulam Rural.
