THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After Vizhinjam Port and Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, Adani is preparing to make its presence known in the solar panel market in Kerala.
Adani Solar National Sales Head Cecil Augustine stated that there is huge potential in the solar market in Kerala. In 2023 alone, the company had installed 70 MW of solar panels in the state.
The company is planning to install 200 MW more rooftop solar panels in Kerala soon. The company also stated that it has set up an extensive warehouse in Coimbatore for the sale of solar panels in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The company hopes to further expand the rooftop solar project in the state under the centre's PM Surya Ghar Mufti Bijli Yojana. The company markets solar panels with a 30-year warranty.
The company also claims that if a family spends Rs 1.6 lakh, the household electricity bill can be reduced to close to zero. Adani Solar Company is also preparing to provide solar energy to the international port that is being set up at Vizhinjam in Thiruvananthapuram by Adani Ports under the Adani Group.
Adani Solar has reached an agreement with Almiya Group, a company based in Kochi, for the supply of solar panels in Kerala.
