KOCHI: Police have submitted a report on the financial fraud case filed against the producers of Manjummel Boys. According to the investigation report submitted by the police in the High Court, the fraud was pre-planned by the producers. The producers made the complainant believe that the first schedule was completed before the shooting started.
The budget of the movie was only 18.65 crores. However, the producers lied that it was made for 22 crore rupees. Parava Film Company has not returned the money that was given to them by the complainant. The police report also stated that the production company's claim that Rs 22 crore was spent on the film was a lie.
Earlier, the police had registered a case against the producers on charges of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust and forgery.
Shawn Antony, Soubin Shahir and Babu Shahir were booked as per the direction of the Ernakulam First Class Magistrate Court. The court had frozen the bank accounts of Parava Films and partner Shawn Antony. The police submitted the investigation report after the High Court temporarily issued a stay on the arrest of the producers. The complaint was lodged by Siraj Valiyathara Hameed from Aroor.
