Pune Porsche accident: Mother of accused minor arrested for giving her blood sample to swap with her son's

arrested

PUNE: The mother of the minor accused in Pune Porsche accident, which caused the death of two, has been arrested. The said woman, Shivani Agarwal, was arrested for allegedly giving her own blood for testing instead of her son in order to prove that he was not drunk. The blood samples of the accused's friends who were with him at the time of the accident were also changed.

The investigating officers had found that this was done on the request of the accused's father and the doctors had tampered with it. It was also revealed that the family exerted influence in many ways to hide the crime. Shivani had earlier released a video saying that a video circulating against her son was fake and requested the police to save her son.

Meanwhile, the police sought permission from the Juvenile Justice Board to interrogate the accused. The rule is that minors should be interrogated in the presence of their parents. Two of his friends who were with him have given a statement to the police that the 17-year-old was drunk on the day of the accident.

The accused's father Vishal Agarwal and grandfather Surendra Agarwal, who were arrested earlier, are in judicial custody. The father was arrested for giving a vehicle to his minor son. After the accident, Surendra Agarwal was arrested for threatening the family driver to take the blame after kidnapping him.

Young engineers Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta were killed in an accident on the night of May 19. Within 15 hours of the accident, the accused was released on bail with minor conditions, including writing an essay, and there was a huge outcry. The Juvenile Justice Board then revised the order and sent him to observation home till June 5. An inquiry report prepared by the Department of Women and Child Welfare will be submitted next week.
