State school entrance festival becomes huge celebration: General education is to empower children to face new era, says Chief Minister

KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the government is strengthening the general education sector in such a way as to enable children to face the new era and the world. The Chief Minister was inaugurating the state-level school entrance festival at Elamakkara Govt Higher Secondary School, Ernakulam.

The General Education Protection Campaign was launched in 2016 when the public education sector faced a decline. What the state saw later was a revolutionary change. A wide range of systems was put in place, such as high-tech classrooms, robotic kits, and innovative curricula that promote knowledge along with fun and children's sense of nature.

It is no small feat that Kerala has ranked first in the NITI Aayog's School Education Quality Index. There has been great progress in the field of academics and infrastructural development, the Chief Minister said.

As part of the entrance ceremony, LKG, 1st class students were received by Ministers V Sivankutty, P Rajeev, Mayor M Anilkumar and others. The Chief Minister presented them with a bag and an umbrella.

The program started with the presentation of the entrance festival song performed by the students. Education Minister V Sivankutty presided. General Education Calendar was released by Minister P Rajeev by presenting it to the Director of General Education M Shanawas. MPs Hibi Eden, Jebi Mather, Mayor Adv M Anilkumar, MLAs K Babu, TJ Vinod, KJ Maxi, PV Srinijin, District Panchayat President Manoj Moothedan, Principal Secretary General Education Department Rani George, Deputy Director of Education Honey G. Alexander and others participated.
