Just three days back, the teaser of the movie ‘Ullozhukku’ appeared on social media platforms, generating big talks within the mollywood arena. Legendary actress Urvashi is teaming up with Parvathy Thiruvothu in the movie directed by Christo Tomy. An alumnus of SRFTI, this will be Christo’s first big theatrical release after the sprawling success of the Netflix series Curry and Cyanide; which put light on the haunting reality of Koodathai murders.

‘Ullozhukku’ has the laurel of being selected as the best screenplay during the Cinestaan India’s Storytellers Contest for scriptwriting in 2018. Even, the now-popular Hindi film ‘Laapataa Ladies’ came only second to Christo’s script. The director was also handed a cash prize of Rs 25 lakhs in the event where the jury members included distinguished names such as Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani, Anjum Rajabali, and Juhi Chaturvedi.

Christo has already won the national award for his short films twice with Kanyaka in 2014 and Kamuki in 2016. And after six years after winning the prized award for his script, Christo is ready to turn his writing into a reality, with Mollywood keenly observing the director, touted to be the new best thing.
