THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister KB Ganesh Kumar lashed out at the Tamil Nadu government's action of increasing the tax on tourist buses without consulting the Kerala government.

Speaking in the assembly, the minister said that Tamil Nadu increased Rs 4000 as tax without consulting Kerala.

"Tamil Nadu should remember that Sabarimala season is coming up in Kerala. Most of the pilgrims visiting Sabarimala are from Tamil Nadu. If you buy Rs 4000 there, we will also buy Rs 4000 here. If you do us harm, we will also harm in return," Ganesh Kumar said.

The minister also said that a system will be introduced to pay the salary of KSRTC employees in a single instalment on the 1st of every month.

"Preparations are underway for introducing this system. The technical difficulties of taking bank loans are being resolved. KSRTC will switch to more AC buses. Buses with more facilities will be introduced considering the changing climate and changing needs. The terms of KSRTC shopping complexes will be relaxed, and measures will be taken to rent out as many shops as possible," the minister added.
