Prime Minister Narendra Modi hugs Pope Francis during G7 summit

APULIA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met Pope Francis at the venue of the ongoing G7 summit in Italy's Apulia. The Prime Minister met Pope Francis during the conference of invitees at the summit. Modi, who hugged Pope Francis, was seen exchanging pleasantries with him. In addition to Narendra Modi, the Pope will hold discussions with leaders of various other nations.

This is the first time Pope Francis is participating in the G7 summit. The Pope does not usually visit such venues. He is attending today's session on the morality of artificial intelligence. Expressing his concern over the threats posed by artificial intelligence, Pope Francis asked world leaders to strengthen the legal systems.

The G7 summit is taking place at the luxurious Borgo Egnazia resort in Italy's Apulia region from June 13-15. PM Modi is attending the summit at the invitation of Italian PM Giorgia Meloni.
