No work for 20 years but still got salary; woman files complaint against company

FRANCE: There are many people around us who dream of getting paid without doing any work. This has actually happened to a woman. A woman got salary after 20 years without working. However, Laurence van Wassenhove, who got this fortune, is not so happy about it. Moreover, she also filed a case against her company, telecom giant Orange, for paying her salary without working. Lawrence alleges moral harassment and discrimination at work.

Lawrence suffers from a condition called hemiplegia. This is a condition where a part of the body or the whole body may be paralyzed. So she cannot work in every office. She could only work in a place suitable for her physical condition. In 1993, she was appointed as a civil servant at France Telecom. They gave her a position that suited her medical needs.

Until 2002, she worked as a secretary and in the HR department. However, later the company was acquired by Orange. With that, Lawrence was asked to move from that office to another office in France. However, the new office did not suit her physical condition. With that, she found it difficult to work.

She says that the company did not consider her demands and did not give her any specific work to do. However, the company paid her salary exactly every month. However, the young woman has now filed a case stating that she was discriminated against and was not provided the conditions to work.
