'Lal uncle and father were supposed to act in second half of the film', Mohanlal gave dates, but Sreenivasan...

Vineeth Sreenivasan is one of the favourite directors of Malayali audiences. Most of his films are well-received by the audience. His latest film 'Varshangalkku Shesham', which was released in April, collected nearly Rs 80 crore at the box office. The film, which starred Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan in the lead roles, also had Nivin Pauly playing a power-packed cameo role. Now, Dhyan Sreenivasan has made some interesting revelations about the film.

"From the very beginning, I had been telling my brother (Vineeth Sreenivasan) to consider some other actor for the role of the cab driver. Since Vineethettan had written the story, people would have wondered why he played that character himself. It was Visakh Subramaniam, the producer, who was adamant that Vineethettan should do that role. He was firm in his stance that every one of us should be there in the film. Vineethettan wasn't much interested in doing that role," Dhyan said.

"Similarly, people, including Aju Varghese, had expressed disagreement over Pranav's makeup in the second half. However, Vineethettan was satisfied with Pranav's look. As per the original plan, our father (Sreenivasan) and Lal uncle (Mohanlal) were supposed to act in the second half of the film. Lal uncle had even given his dates for the film. However, things changed as father fell sick. If Lal uncle and father had acted in the film, there would have been several changes in the story of the film," he said.

Dhyan also said that nowadays, people find it difficult to sit through emotional drama on OTT platforms. "People will get easily bored. 'Varshangalkku Shesham' lagged in many parts. Yet, Vineeth Sreenivasan, the director, overcame it with some of his tricks," he added.
