‘Now party has to decide whether to contest or stay away; My choice is always Vattiyoorkavu’

k-muraleedharan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader K Muraleedharan said that he will not campaign in Palakkad and Chelakkara constituencies. In an interview to a media, he said that he will campaign for Priyanka in Wayanad.

He said that Vattiyoorkavu is like his own family. 'Even when I was Vadakara MP, used to visit Vattiyoorkavu twice a week. I don't have any official posts now, so I will be active in Vattiyoorkavu. Did not leave Vattiyoorkavu by my own will. Went to Vadakara as per the directive of the party and from there asked me to shift to Thrissur. Was defeated. Will be in Vattiyoorkavu for the next two years,’ said Murali.

Muraleedharan said the party should decide whether he should contest in the next elections or not. ‘The party should decide whether to contest, stay away and where to contest. My choice will always be Vattiyoorkavu. Will be active for the panchayat elections. Before that, when Priyanka Gandhi comes to Wayanad, will campaign for her,’ he said.

Muraleedharan had stated the other day that he would not contest the Palakkad by-polls. He said there are many youngsters to compete there. Muraleedharan had announced that he would stay away from public affairs for the time being after losing from Thrissur constituency in the Lok Sabha elections.
