Rave party at Kochi's five-star hotel; four arrested for possession of MDMA tablets

KOCHI: Four youngsters including a woman were arrested for possession of newly trending MDMA tablets, ganja and hashish oil during a raid conducted by the Excise at a five-star hotel in Aluva Athani.

Jean Dev from Kaloor, Arun C Kishore from Palluruthy, Soochimol from Kollam and Mohammad Hayas from Palluruthy were arrested. As much as 2.1 grams of MDMA tablets were seized from the Maruti Ignis car of Muhammad Hayas during the vehicle inspection by the Excise. This led to the news about the hotel room used by the four in Aluva.

The officials later conducted a lightning check inside the hotel room used by the culprits. After confirming the presence of MDMA and other banned drugs inside the room, the police registered the arrest of the four. Excise said that the source of the drugs would be clear only upon interrogation.

Ernakulam Excise Special Squad Inspector Pramod, Preventive Officers Ginesh Kumar, Basanthkumar, Manoj, Abhijit Mohan and women officers Sarita Rani and Nisha were involved in the investigative team that carried out the drug bust.
