KASARAGOD: A complaint on Sunday surfaced alleging a woman duping many people including police officials by pretending as an ISRO engineer. The case is against Shruthi Chandrasekaran (35), a native of Kombanadukkam Kasagarod. Shruthi used to introduce herself as Assistant Engineer from ISRO and used to lure people into marriage. This will end with the woman swindling money from the victim. It is also reported that the culprit duped many people by masquerading as an IAS officer.

A case has been registered on the complaint received from a youth of Poinachi. The two met through Instagram and later it was complained that one lakh rupees and one sovereign of gold were stolen from the youth. Based on these documents, the police have registered a case for forging documents.

It is reported that many policemen in Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode and Thrissur districts have been caught in Shruti's honeytrap. Despite losing big money, these police officials remained hesitant to complain for fear of insult and denigration from the public.

According to reports, Shruthi is a habitual offender involved in similar cases. It is also alleged that a young man who filed a complaint was implicated in a molestation case. However, the same case was strengthened which made the police delve deep into the history of the culprit. Shruthi is also alleged to have stolen a gold pendant from one of her victim’s mother. Police have now intensified the search for Shruthi.
