Threatened with fake photos, daughter files complaint over mother's suicide in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: Daughter of the housewife who committed suicide in Ulliyeri, Plaora has complained to the police that neighbours were the reason for the suicide of her mother. Shaiji (42) committed suicide near her home on the 19th of this month. The daughter complained to the Atholi police about four members of a neighbouring family.

The complaint states that the morning before the suicide, a neighbour woman and her daughter came to the house and threatened Shaiji and her children. Relatives said they showed their daughter fake pictures of Shaiji and threatened not to let her live. The next morning, Shaiji was found hanging from a tree in the backyard by a shawl.

Both of Shaiji's children are students. The police registered a case of unnatural death and started an investigation. In the meantime, the daughter filed a complaint against four people alleging that they threatened her.
