'Quality of licence matters'; Minister Ganesh Kumar's new policies

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar highlighted the need for quality licenses to be issued in the state to ensure better driving among drivers. Ganesh Kumar shared more information in a video shared on the Facebook page of the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Minister Ganesh Kumar:

"The revaluation of driving licenses is not done to harm anyone or settle personnel grudges. It is done only after taking consideration of the lives lost on roads. There will be no compromise on this matter. The highest amount of money is spent on road safety in Kerala. The quality of driver's licenses is an important factor in road safety.

The Accounts General of the Central Government conducted a study on driving licenses in Kerala and they also highlighted the need for improving the quality of licenses to ensure road safety. I had already put forward the demand to improve the quality of licenses even before the central government report arrived. It is the responsibility of the government to protect people's lives on the roads. Ignorance and arrogance of many can lead to accidents.”
