League and Samastha end cold war; 'Samastha upheld Muslim faith,' says Jifri Thangal

KOZHIKODE: In a significant development following the recent elections, the League state president, Panakkad Sadiqali Shihab Thangal, praised Samastha at the Samasta Kerala Jamiyatul Ulama leadership meeting held in Kozhikode yesterday.

Sadiqali chaired the meeting. He described Samastha as an invincible movement, emphasizing its importance not only for Muslims but for other communities as well. "It is our responsibility to protect everyone and stand with them," he stated. His speech, notably devoid of political discourse, responded to the leftward shift seen during the election. League state secretary PMA Salam's statements had previously caused tension on both sides but yesterday's meeting seemed to mend these rifts.

Samastha protected Muslim faith

President Muhammad Jifri Muthukoya Thangal, who inaugurated the meeting, reiterated that Samastha is an organization dedicated to the protection of Sharia based on justice. "Samastha has preserved the beliefs, deeds and customs of Muslims," he said. He criticized those who tried to distort the idea of 'deen', stating that Samastha exposed the realities of these fragmented movements. "Many thieves and liars appeared as nobles, but Samastha suppressed, defended and exposed them," he added.

The leadership gathering commenced with the Puyyangadi Varakkal Makham Ziarat. Samastha Kerala Jamiatul Ulama Vice President M.K. Moitheenkutty Kutti Musliar raised the flag, while Vice President M.P. Kunji Muhammad Musliar led the prayer. General Secretary Prof. K. Alikutty Musliar delivered the keynote address.
