Kaliyakkavilai Deepu murder: Pradeep Chandran also on accused list; two more in custody

KUZHITHURAI: Kaliyakkavilai police have registered the arrest of Neyyatinkara native Pradeep Chandran, the accomplice of Ambili, who is accused of killing Deepu, a native of Malayinkeezh and a crusher owner, in a car near Kaliyakkavilai. However, Pradeep Chandran's boss, Sunil Kumar, could not be caught.

Pradeep Chandran was caught by a team led by Neyyattinkara DySP. Two more people from Parassala were taken into custody today by the special team of Tamilnadu police. Based on the secret information received by the special team that Sunilkumar's car was lying at the service centre in Parassala two days ago, the police took the owner of the service centre and another person into custody. They are being interrogated in detail. The interrogation is based on the collected CCTV footage.

Ambili will be taken into custody

The Tamil Nadu police, who were not satisfied with the statement of the accused, Ambili, who was arrested in the murder case, applied to the Kuzhithurai Magistrate to take Ambili into custody for five days. Pradeep Chandran was remanded after being produced in court today. At present three people have been added to the accused list. Ambili, Sunil Kumar and Pradeep Chandran.

Sunilkumar still out of reach

Pradeep Chandran along with Sunil Kumar had brought Ambili to Kaliyakkavilai by car from Neyyatinkara. It is also suspected that Sunil Kumar has left the state. The police have intensified their investigation focusing on phone tower locations. The police said that Sunil Kumar will be arrested soon and the full details of the murder can be known only if the accused are interrogated together. Of the 10 lakh rupees in the possession of the murdered Deepu, 5 lakh rupees are yet to be found. The police concluded that it was in the possession of Sunil Kumar.
