THRISSUR: Film director KR Subhash withdrew his documentary adulating Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan titled ‘Yuvathayodu: ‘Ariyanam Pinarayiye’. The documentary was posted on YouTube to draw more youngsters into the communist party. However lately, the director had a revelation as he deemed CM Pinarayi's attitude not in congruence with the communist ethos. The documentary taken down from YouTube, has received over 75 lakh views.

The documentary was made to brand Pinarayi during the 2016 assembly elections.

“Once the communist in a man dies, a documentary like this has no relevance.” The documentary was produced under the label of AKG Research Center. The release was done by Professor MK Sanu. KR Subhash also said that the director of the 32-minute-long documentary was Minister P Rajeev.

Due to the heavy defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, the chief minister, the party secretary and the convenor of the Left Front were highly criticized in the state and district committees. The political centres blamed CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s haughty attitude for the election debacle. Even many district committees of the CPM meted out unprecedented criticism of the chief minister.
