Gas leak from tanker lorry in Kannur sickens ten nursing students

KANNUR: Ten people of a nearby nursing college fell ill after a gas leak from a tanker lorry in Ramapuram. Eight of them have been admitted to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital. The leak occurred while transferring hydrochloric acid from a tanker lorry to another tanker.

A gas leak occurred in a tanker lorry going from Mangalore to Ernakulam last evening. After this, the lorry was stopped. After transferring gas to another lorry, it was decided to continue the journey. The incident took place during the removal of gas for this purpose. Due to this, the people living within a kilometer radius of the incident have been shifted. Fire and police have reached the spot. Meanwhile, there are allegations that the tanker lorry is rotten.
