Made remarks to strengthen LDF and make necessary corrections: CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam

NEW DELHI: CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam said in Delhi that he had made some remarks the other day to strengthen the LDF and make necessary corrections. "I said what the party had to say. What needs to be corrected will be corrected. There is no need for further interpretation."

"The communist position is that an underworld should not grow under the shadow of the red flag. CPI has that position and the CPM may also have it. There was no harshness in my response. The position was clarified in mild and political language. I said that the stories of gold snatching and the unleashing of the underworld are not the way of the red flag. I have not said the name of anyone." Binoy Viswam did not respond to the media's questions about P Jayarajan's son and Manu Thomas. "If any leader is targeted by the media, don't associate it with the CPI. The party is laughingly rejecting Congress leader MM Hasan's statement that the CPI should leave the LDF," said Binoy Vishwam.

"My opinion is that C Achutha Menon is the best Chief Minister Kerala has seen. It does not mean that Pinarayi Vijayan is bad. CPM and CPI are equally responsible for the election defeat. Will respond more after the statement of CPM central committee," he said.
