Emirates Group announces 4% pay hike for workers, effective July 1

DUBAI: Emirates Group has good news for the workers at the beginning of the new month. The group has announced a 4 percent pay hike for workers. The new announcement comes after 20 weeks of salary was paid as a bonus.

Apart from salary, travelling allowance and UAE National Retention Allowance have been increased by four percent. Flight deck and cabin crew will get a four percent increase in flying and productivity pay. Moreover, housing allowance has been increased by 10 to 15 percent for all workers. In the mail sent to the workers, the company states that all the increases will be effective from July 1. Details of the new salary and allowances will be contained in the contract settlement letter that will be distributed on July 22, the mail said.

But employees who have received a final warning and who are subject to disciplinary action which may lead to dismissal will not be given salary increment. The company also clarified that those who do not complete their probation by July 1, 2024 and who give notice will not get this increase.

Other Benefits

--Maternity leave with pay has been increased from 60 to 90 days

--Paternity leave has been increased from five to ten days

--Nursing break for mothers increased from one hour to two

--The life insurance premium for Grade 1 to Grade 5 workers will be covered by the company itself

--The long term medical leaves will be effective from September 1

--Ten percent increase in education allowance

The Emirates Group, which has been on a hiring spree in recent years, is looking to hire more pilots, flight attendants and engineers. The company had announced earlier this year that it would hire 5,000 cabin crew by 2024.
