CPI State Executive: Despite criticism, CM Pinarayi Vijayan not ready to drop 'lordly' attitude

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI state executive criticized the anti-incumbency and the communal strife for the bashing LDF received in the LS pols 2024. The executive also raised concern about the vote erosion from CPM benefitting BJP in Kerala.

The Chief Minister behaves like a lord and is hell-bent on not changing his attitude despite getting criticized from all quarters. All the leaders of CPM are arrogant. Raising CAA and Palestinian issues during election time pictured LDF as appeasing minorities. There were many lapses in the food and revenue ministries.

Essential domestic items were not available through Supplyco. CPM-ruled Finance Department did not provide money to Supplyco and the Food Department. Since the Food Ministry is under CPI, people also blamed CPI for their suffering. Non-payment of welfare pensions also worsened the election chances.

The fact that the party candidate came third again in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency should be seriously examined. There are allegations about Pannyan not even getting CPM votes in Thiruvananthapuram.

Earlier, the left front decided to evaluate the work done by each minister but this ended as a fallen promise. CPI is now forced to continue in the alliance, subservient to the dictates of CPM. A special executive will be convened to review the functioning of the government.

The executive committee meanwhile extended their support for Binoy Viswam who criticized SFI and the organisation's rogue dealings. The members said that such criticisms should have been raised earlier.
