h

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As drug abuse cases increase, 244 vacancies are reported in various posts in Excise Department. Recruitment is awaited when many rank lists are available.

Meanwhile, the Excise has arrested 11,358 accused in various cases this year. From January to June 2024, 33849 COTPA cases and 9222 Abkari cases were registered. 3623 NDPS cases have also been registered.

Even a single post of vigilance officer is unoccupied.

Candidates say that once the promotion vacancies are filled, the vacancies for the entry cadre posts will increase further. The candidates complain that the appointment is delayed due to the financial crisis of the government.
