One more cholera case confirmed in Thiruvananthapuram; Dengue tally rises to 129

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a news that will set alarm bells ringing, one more person got diagnosed with cholera in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday. A total of 129 dengue cases were reported in the state in the last 24 hours; H1N1 has been reported to 36 people;12508 people sought treatment for fever. One suspected dengue death and one West Nile virus death were also reported.

Meanwhile, in Malappuram, malaria has been confirmed in four people. One person in Nilambur and three in Ponnani have been diagnosed with malaria. Blood samples of 1200 people were tested in Ponnani. All three confirmed cases are women. In Nilambur, a migrant worker was infected with the disease. She is a native of Odisha and is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
