Expatriate's life experiences inspire curriculum: Amanulla’s journey now in textbooks

b

ATTINGAL: 72-year-old Amanulla is delighted that his expatriate life experiences are now part of academic curriculum. His book, Marubhoomiyile Marujeevithangal has been included as a textbook in motivational literature for the second semester of the four-year undergraduate course at the University of Kerala. Additionally, a chapter titled Sharjayile Poochakal has been incorporated into the new Malayalam textbook for class 7. Amanula’s expatriate life is marked by the compassion he extended to many individuals.

The fourth son of the late Mohammad Sali and Sara Ummal of Pratibha, Panantemukk became an expatriate at the age of 22. After studying undergraduate and typewriting, flew to UAE. He became a worker in the Sharjah government's electricity company. The charity worker of Amanullah was brought to the outside world because of the efforts to bring home the body of his colleague who died in an accident. Amanula means savior. It was then that Amanula realized that beyond working and reaching a great position, the purpose of life is that of the Savior. In his 37 years of exile, Amanula brought comfort to many lives.

Amanullah's name and phone number have been engraved on the walls of prisons in the UAE by inmates. Many people who went missing during their lives in expatriate life were brought back to their loved ones through Amanula. How many girls who fell into the hands of traffickers in search of a way of life have returned to life through Amanula.

A child born illegitimately to both countries is punishable by imprisonment. Fearing this, the parents led a secretive life without showing their child in the open for decades. We will see these helpless people in the 'Marubhoomiyile marujeevithangal'. Amanula's memories were written by Dr Dipesh Karimbunkara, Head of the Malayalam Department of Sree Narayana Guru College Chelannur, Kozhikode. Two editions of the book have been published. The book was published in Tamil as 'Palechunai.' Translated by Sunilal Manjalumood. Amanula's wife is Valsala. Children: Fabian and Mauryan.
