MANNAR: Whenever there befalls a crisis, Kerala will join hands together to be at their magnanimous best. Help is coming from all quarters to Wayanad with people expressing willingness to adopt orphaned children and vowing to build new houses for the victims. And now, two youngsters from Kottayam have expressed willingness to marry victims of the disaster.
Vishnu Kumar (30), son of Srinivasan Nair and Jayashree in Budhanoor Thayyoor, and Deepuraj (31), son of late Soman and Lalitha, a nursing assistant in Mavelikara Govt Hospital in Parumala, have expressed their willingness to give new life to women, who have lost everything in the Wayanad disaster.
Vishnu is now building a house near his sister's house, with the money he got after resigning from a company in Madhya Pradesh. He currently resides in Eramathoor Munduvelil in Mannar. Vishnu came to this decision as per the wishes of his mother who was heartbroken by the tragedy in Wayanad. Vishnu’s mother is now looking for a suitable bride from the disaster-stricken land and is sure that the couple will lead a happy life leaving aside the mayhem of the 2024 landslides. Vishnu now drives an autorickshaw to earn a living.
Deepuraj, who has proved his talent in mimicry and folk songs, is a conductor in a private bus. This young man, who used to perform programs with the Kuttanad folk song Kala Samiti, has bought a plot of land in Chettikulangara and is setting up a house. Deepu went viral after he shared his decision on social media. He has been receiving nonstop phone calls after the comment went viral on Facebook. Deepu will leave for Wayanad on Saturday.
