THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) condemned the hate comments and cyber-attacks now directed at the founding member of the organisation.

wcc:

“We much appreciate the support people give to survivors but we also strongly condemn the cyber-attacks and belittling comments about senior women artists. Every artist has the right to speak, and never undermine the professional journey and the struggles of women artists.

We hope that this 250-page study will be read with an open mind by all who are seriously involved in the film industry, discuss among themselves, understand the historical causes of anti-feminism in this profession and take initiatives to address them.

There have always been many women in the film industry who have made a place for themselves through talent and hard work. These women have shone like beacons despite many obstacles. They should not be insulted.”
