BENGALURU: Vijayalakshmi, wife of actor Darshan, met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar at his residence on Thursday. The timing of the meeting turned out interesting as D K Shivakumar had vowed to protect the actor if convinced about any injustice in the case.
After the meeting, the deputy CM explained that it was a formal meeting to discuss matters regarding the education of Darshan’s son.
"The couple’s son studied in the school under my management. However, the student recently transferred to another school. Now, Vijayalakshmi came with a request to admit the student to his old school. They came to see me when the principal refused entry. I said I would talk to the principal about the matter.” Said DK Shivakumar.
During a public rally attended by D K Shivakumar last week, the fans of actor Darshan clamoured in protest about the actor not getting justice. The deputy CM said that he would never interfere in court matters but assured about protecting the actor if proved his innocence.
15 people, including Darshan Thoogudeepa and his actor friend Pavitra Gowda, have been arrested in the case of kidnapping and murder of a fan named Renuka Swamy. It is reported that the actor along with his lackeys brutally killed and later annihilated Renuka Swamy’s dead body for sending obscene messages to Pavitra on social media.
Siddharuda. a former inmate of Parappana Agrahara Jail, revealed about talking with Darshan for almost 12 minutes inside the jail. He raised concerns about the actor’s health and the sudden drop in weight.
"Most of the time is spent reading books in the cell. There are about 20 books including Bhagwat Gita, Ramayana, Mahabharata, and autobiographies of Vivekananda and Yogi. the room lacks any proper space and it seemed Darshan was very eager to engage in conversation with me' Siddharuda, who has been in jail for 22 years, was released on parole recently.
