BENGALURU: With the rescue operation on the 12th day not yielding any positive results, the officials in Karnataka gave sly hints about ending the search for missing driver Arjun in Shirur. The 13th-day search operation was to begin at 9 am on Sunday but is now being delayed due to poor weather conditions. The Uttara Kannada district administration said they would try their best for one more day to find the missing truck driver and will discuss further search operations only after taking instructions from the Karnataka government.

The ongoing strong current in the river Gangavali, where Arjun's truck is believed to be, has turned into a dilemma for the rescue team. The undercurrent is at a speed of more than 10 km and even expert divers are having a tough time taming the river. More fishing boats have been brought to Shirur.

The fishing team led by Ishwar Malpe will yet again dive deep into the dangerous waters on Sunday. Malpe while talking to the media told about how dangerous the river is and termed Shirur's mission his most daring rescue operation till now.

Meanwhile, Kerala minister Mohammed Riyas beseeched the Karnataka government to not end the rescue operation for Arjun. Uttara Kannada District Collector Lakshmipriya said that the decision to continue the rescue operation will be made only according to the instructions of the Karnataka government.
