NEW DELHI: The body of Nevin Dalvin Suresh (23), the Malayali student who lost his life in the flooding disaster at the Civil Services Training Center near Karol Bagh, was brought home at midnight. After the post-mortem, the body was sent to Thiruvananthapuram on the 08.25 pm flight. Nevin is the son of retired DYSP Dalvin Suresh and Dr TS Lancelet, former Head of the Department of Geography, Kalady Sanskrit University.

Remedial measures should happen
Nevin's uncle Linuraj said that if Nevin's soul is to find peace, illegal coaching centres should be found and remedial measures should be taken. "Nevin was someone who helped everyone. Nevin may have had the accident while trying to save someone," he said. Linuraj is Nevin's mother's brother. Malayalee organizations in Delhi were on hand with all help to speed up the post-mortem and other procedures. Union Minister George Kurien paid last rites to the dead body.
Guidelines were given: Dharmendra Pradhan
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated in the Lok Sabha that the detailed guidelines regarding coaching centres were given to the states last January.
KC Venugopal raised the coaching centre tragedy during the question session. "From 2018 to 2022, 80 students committed suicide in higher education institutions in the country. Caste discrimination is the main reason,' he pointed out. Minister Dharmendra Pradhan replied that the central government is committed to the social and mental health care of students not only in coaching centres but in any educational institution. The minister repeated the answer in the Rajya Sabha as well. New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj of the BJP demanded that a committee be formed under the Union Home Ministry to investigate the incident.
