'Shirur rescue operation in crisis, Eshwar Malpe under mental stress'

KOZHIKODE: Despite giving hints about resuming the search operation on Saturday, Shirur remains standstill with no progress being reported from the site. Opposition leader V D Satheesan visited missing truck driver Arjun’s house in Kozhikode on Saturday and extended support to the family. Arjun’s brother-in-law Jithin updated the situation to the opposition leader.

Jithin:

“It was informed that the search will resume after four days in Shirur. However, we have not received any official information. All these issues have been raised with the Leader of the Opposition. Earlier diving expert Eshwar Malpe contacted telling us about the chances of the water level going down during the new moon day. However, during the last time, Eshwar was made to sign a form that said the government would take no responsibility in case of death and the diving should be conducted at Eshwar’s own risk. Eshwar went through mental stress after the incident.

Shirur MLA has not yet contacted us. The search for Arjun is now in crisis. I was thinking of going to Shirur last night but had to postpone it to Saturday night after knowing about Satheesan sir visiting us. As the lorry is doubted to be in water, the Navy has to lead the search operations.”
