Alappuzha's Major Aneesh Mohan: The engineer behind Wayanad's lifeline Bailey bridge

ALAPPUZHA: Major Aneesh Mohan of the Military Engineering Regiment, a native of Alappuzha, was among the military team that led the construction of the bailey bridge as a rescue route in the disaster area of Wayanad. It is the tireless efforts of the team led by Aneesh, who overcame heavy challenges and managed to complete the bridge an hour before the estimated time. Aneesh is the eldest son of N. Mohanan and Kushalakumari couple in Varyamchani, Kottankulangara Kalath, Alappuzha.

After completing his B.Tech, Aneesh joined Bharat Electronics Limited as an engineer and joined the military engineering department as a lieutenant. During his twelve years of military service, he has volunteered to serve in many disaster situations. Aneesh and his team are now doing rescue work in the disaster area of Wayanad.

Aneesh's father Mohanan, who retired as superintendent from Kochi Corporation, is a member of SNDP Yogam No. 298 Kalath branch managing committee and executive member of Sree Narayana Pensioners Council Town South Region. His wife Nikhi, a native of Thrissur, is an army school teacher. Children: Ahan Aneesh, Ryan Aneesh.

First appointment in Jammu

Aneesh completed his schooling in Alappuzha and completed his B.Tech from CUSAT. The first appointment in the military was in Jammu. He worked in Mumbai, Nagaland and Assam. Currently he is serving in Bengaluru.
