BENGALURU: The search for Arjun of Kozhikode, who went missing along with his lorry in the landslide in Shirur, is likely to resume today. It is being examined whether the search can be conducted again when the flow of water and the undercurrents have been slightly reduced.
However, the district administration said the situation is that a search cannot be conducted after going deep to the Gangavali river. Therefore, it is not clear whether the authorities will give permission to Eshwar Malpey and his team, who voluntarily came forward to search. Eshwar had earlier tried to dive into the river in the presence of the navy, but failed. He was washed away after the big rope tied had broken. Presently, an orange alert has been issued in the coastal areas of Karnataka including Shirur. Permission to search can be given only after checking all this.
The family had the other day clarified that they are not getting any official information from the Karnataka authorities about the search. Arjun’s brother-in-law Jithin told the media that the search was in a crisis and that he had held talks with opposition leader V D Satheesan. The opposition leader had visited Arjun's house in Kozhikode the other day. Soon after, the family reacted.
It was informed that the search will resume after four days. However, after that we have not received any official information. Those who came from the University of Agriculture had submitted the report. It was learned that a review was conducted in this regard yesterday. No information was given to us after that. All these issues have been raised with the opposition leader. He said he is with us, said Jithin.
