MUMBAI: The police arrested a youth over the death of his 21-year-old classmate after falling from a building in Maharashtra. The police arrested Dhruv Chikkara in connection with the death of Arushi Singh, an MBBS student at Krishna Vishwa Vidyalaya. The youth was also studying with her. The police found that the two were in a relationship and later some issues broke out between the two. He was arrested following this and will be in police custody till August 5.

The girl died after falling from the apartment at Satara in Maharashtra. The police found that the youth had visited her on the day she died and that a verbal dispute broke out between the two. There was a heated exchange of words between the two. The two had known each other since their coaching days and were in a relationship for two years. Amidst a dispute, the youth pushed her down from the building.

The youth sustained some minor injuries amid the attack. This also became crucial evidence for the police. The girl's mother filed a police complaint against the youth. Her complaint said that he used to harass her daughter and stopped her from talking to other male friends. The girl's mother is also a doctor and she had testified that she advised her to stay away from him, but whenever she tried to do so, the youth followed and harassed her.
