NEW DELHI: Vinesh Phogat reached the finals in the women's 50kg category, reviving India's hopes of a maiden gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Many people have already come forward to congratulate the star. Meanwhile, actress and MP Kangana Ranaut also came forward to congratulate Phogat. Kangana praised Phogat on her Instagram page. She added that she is looking forward to India's gold in Paris.

‘Fingers crossed for India’s first Gold Medal… Vinesh Phogat at one point took part in protests where she raised the slogans of ‘Modi teri Kabr khudegi.’ Yet she was given the opportunity to represent the nation and receive the best training, coaches, and facilities,’ Kangana wrote on Instagram.

Vinesh Phogat’s win 5-0 win was after defeating Cuba’s Yusneylis Guzman Lopez. Her finals will be held today night. In the first match, Vinesh reached the quarter-finals with a last-minute upset of Japan's Yui Suzaki, the reigning Olympic champion, winner of four world championships and undefeated international player. She defeated Ukraine's Oksana Livach in the quarter and reached the semi-finals. Vinesh will face America's Sarah Ann Hildebrand in the final.
