‘All those are vulgarities, should probe if actors’ organization has a backbone’

KOZHIKODE: Actor Hareesh Peradi said the things mentioned in the Hema Committee report are issues that we have often heard and discussed. He added that the importance of the report is that all the issues raised by women in the film industry have been validated and now we are waiting for the steps to be taken by the government.

‘What the public needs to know is what action the government will take on this report. In the pages that have been omitted, we can understand what it means to respect and honor the privacy of victims, but there are many predators on these pages. We want to know what action the government is going to take against those poachers.

Action should be taken against the poachers no matter how big the celebrities are. None of them are prominent when it comes to crime. My stand is that the Left government in Kerala should take the case and conduct an investigation. I resigned from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The resignation was as a result of continuity in relation to such related matter. As an organization, they should try to understand such problems. They should not say let us study and then will opine.

I don't understand what they are learning when reports like Hema Committee has been released. All those are vulgarities. At least do not tell such news to media and the society. Instead deal such issues and address. That is what an actors’ organization should do if they have a backbone. They should take steps after examining all these things,’ said Hareesh Peradi.
