Rain of accusations; AMMA in crisis unlike never before; demand to bring young actors to leadership

KOCHI: After the release of the Hema Committee report, the film actors' organization 'AMMA' has been rocked by allegations of sexual harassment against some actors and differences of opinion among its members. As the complaints started reaching the police, things are moving towards more crisis.

The organization is not able to clarify the position to be adopted in the event of accusations coming in torrents. There is also a possibility of an outburst when the executive meets to discuss matters. The executive meeting scheduled for today has been postponed to another day due to the inconvenience of President Mohanlal.

Siddique had to resign from the post of General Secretary following an actress's accusation, which gave a big shock to AMMA. There was a move to give the charge to Joint Secretary Baburaj instead, but the allegations against him made it difficult. Even though the name of Jagadish is being raised for the post of General Secretary, there is an opinion that an actress will be a better choice. An executive meeting needs to be held to decide on these matters. There may be different opinions about it.
